Exactly what is Field Day? Well, that would depend largely on whom you ask! If you've never been to one, you have truley missed out. Some may say that it's a 24 hour picinic. Others might classify it as the greatest annual contest of all time; while some may see it as a yearly Show & Tell. Personally, I lean more toward the picnic end of the spectrum. But, then, one look at me and that would go without saying! 😉 Whatever Field Day is to you; theres no denying it is a ton of fun!
This year we had 32 participants with 6 visitors. Two of those being first time Field Day visitors. We will bring you the final contacts tally once all the data is compiled.
Meanwhile; a huge Thank You to Don Weeks, N5SKT for being the 2025 Field Day Coordinator!
Field Day 2025 is behind us and it was a great time for all who participated. Thanks to everyone's effort it was a successful day for us; although it was HOT. As always we should evaluate the weekend, and plan for 2026, beginning at the next meeting. I pray that each of you have a great July 4th weekend coming up.

Ed Busch, K8MKN; a long time member of the Cedar Creek Amateur Radio Club; passed away at his home June 21, 2025. Ed had held several offices in the Club throughout the years, including that of President. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Ed's family and friends during this time.
My chair is sitting empty.
My call's no longer heard
My radio rests quietly.
From it comes no words.
On my shack door is a message.
That reads "From Me to Thee"
My frequency's much higher now
I've become a Silent Key.

* There will be a Silent Key Ceremony Thurday Evening at 7pm July 3rd; during the Rag Chew Net.
